A personal mentor for CBSE Class 10.

CBSE students are rarely short of resources. Sample papers, question banks, coaching, YouTube — it is all there, and that abundance is part of the problem. What is missing is a plan that says which of it to touch today, and someone who checks that it happened.

What this is

How it works for CBSE students

My Mentor is a one-on-one mentorship program, not tuition and not a coaching batch. The mentor does not re-teach chapters. The mentor makes sure the studying happens, in the right order, and that the child does not quietly give up on one subject in October.

CBSE's structure rewards consistency more than intensity. Internal assessment, periodic tests and practical marks accumulate through the year, and a student who drifts from July to November cannot recover those in February however hard they work. The plan therefore treats the whole year as the exam, not just the last two months.

Mentoring runs over call and WhatsApp, so a CBSE student in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune or a small town joins on exactly the same terms.

Subjects

Where students actually lose ground

The mentor does not teach these — but the plan is built around the kind of work each one genuinely needs.

Mathematics (Standard / Basic)

The Standard-versus-Basic choice is a planning decision, not just a form to fill. If it has not been thought through against what the child wants in Class 11, we raise it early.

Science

Physics numericals, Chemistry equations and Biology recall need three different kinds of practice. A single "do Science today" target is why so many students plateau here.

Social Science

Deceptively easy to read and hardest to retain. It gets scheduled in short repeated passes rather than one long block before the exam.

English

Writing marks are the most reliably winnable in the whole paper and the most consistently ignored until January.

Internal assessment

Periodic tests, notebook submission and subject enrichment are tracked alongside chapters, because they are marks the child can lose without noticing.

The year, mapped

A plan built backwards from the exam dates

This is not any individual student's plan — every plan is written around that child's own position. It is the frame the real one is built inside.

  1. August – September

Full syllabus mapped chapter by chapter, each marked strong, shaky or untouched. Shaky ones get scheduled first, while there is still room to fix them.

  2. October – November

Two or three small targets a day. Anything missed in a week is caught the same week, and the periodic-test calendar is planned around, not reacted to.

  3. December

Backlog closes. This is the month that decides whether January is revision or panic.

  4. January

Pre-boards and the first full revision pass. Whatever the pre-board exposes rewrites the plan that same week.

  5. February

Revision, past papers and confidence only. Nothing new is started.

Your questions

Frequently asked questions

Our child already goes to a well-known coaching institute. What does this add?

Coaching covers the syllabus and tests it. It does not sit with your child at 8pm and make sure the day's revision happened. If your child attends everything and consolidates nothing, that gap is what this closes — and it is a common enough pattern that it is the single most frequent reason families come to us.

Do you help decide between Maths Standard and Maths Basic?

We will talk it through honestly against what the child is likely to want in Class 11 and how their Maths is actually going. It is your decision and the school's, but it should be a considered one rather than a default, and it is better made in September than in November.

Is the mentoring in English?

English or Hindi, whichever the student is more comfortable thinking in. Plenty of CBSE students are more fluent in Hindi than their English-medium schooling suggests, and forcing the check-in into English just makes them say less.

How does this work alongside a heavy school and coaching schedule?

The plan is built around the existing timetable rather than on top of it. On a long coaching day the target might be a single item. A plan that gets completed is worth more than an ambitious one that gets abandoned.
